LA Galaxy (USA)

After one of the worst campaigns by a defending MLS Cup champion the LA Galaxy are determined to change the narrative, yet decided to keep the man steering the ship, coach Greg Vanney.

The Galaxy’s roster combines experienced leaders and dynamic attackers who can shift momentum in tight games. Players with European pedigrees, most notably, former German international, Marco Reus bring technical quality and poise.

Under Vanney, the LA Galaxy emphasize structured defending and quick transitional play. Their ability to absorb pressure and strike effectively on the break has made them dangerous in situations where patience and tactical discipline are required.

A Champions Cup title in 2000, seems a long way off and a poor return for a club that sees itself as a marquee name in the US soccer environment. The pressure is on the club to deliver after the halcyon era of David Beckham, Landon Donavon, Robbie Keane and multiple MLS titles.
